Charles Niss “Chase” Clarke, 75, of Greenfield, Wisconsin, beloved son, brother, uncle, and great uncle, died on March 6th, 2026. Chase passed away quietly after courageously battling a prolonged series of illnesses. He was born on April 26, 1950, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Helen Niss and Charles Clarke. Chase grew up in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and graduated from University Lake School in 1970, where he excelled in Drama and art. He went on to Lincoln College in Illinois, earning his associate degree, and continued his education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in fine arts. His education, and in reality his life, was put on hold following a diagnosis of schizophrenia at age 22. He was known for his kind and gentle nature, wonderful sense of humor, fierce loyalty, and keen eye for detail. When growing up, Chase enjoyed sailing, tennis, and magic. He was a member of the Bahai Faith, which was a source of strength and comfort throughout his life. The family wishes to thank his social worker for tirelessly advocating on Chase’s behalf for these many years, as well as the wonderful care he received from his caregivers. Chase is survived by his mother, Helen Clarke, brother Kimbrough Clarke, sister-in-law Margaret Clarke, nephew Collin (Lauren) Clarke, and grandnieces Chloe and Valarie, along with multiple cousins and extended family.Donations can be sent to the University Lake School or to Mental Health America.Private family services will be held.
