Charles's Obituary

Charles Eli Clary Jr., 43, of Warren, Arkansas, and formerly of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024. Born in Malvern on September 17, 1980, to Charles Eli Clary Sr. and Dorothy Ruth Frazier Clary, Charles grew up attending Malvern Public Schools. Throughout his life, he found spiritual comfort in various churches, never settling on a single denomination. He was baptized by Pastor Henry Mitchell at Mt. Willow Missionary Baptist Church in Malvern, now known as Victory Praise and Worship Church. Charles always referred to Pastor Mitchell as his pastor.

Charles was known for his quiet and soft-spoken nature, but once he grew comfortable with you, he had a curious mind, always asking thoughtful questions and expecting answers. He had a deep love for his family, often showing his playful side by joking around, especially with his sisters, whom he would tease by pinching their cheeks. His sense of humor and love for fun were endearing qualities that those close to him cherished.

When it came to food, Charles had simple yet beloved favorites—he never turned down a plate of pinto beans, and he especially enjoyed his cousin Daniel’s tender, fall-off-the-bone barbecued ribs.

In his later years, Charles moved to Warren, where he found comfort and a supportive community at the Southeast Arkansas Human Development Center. Surrounded by love and care, he thrived in his new environment. Charles also had a loyal companion, his dog Cujo, who was more than a pet—Cujo was his best friend, always by his side.

Charles was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents. He will be missed, loved and remembered by his two sisters: Monica Charlene Clary and Evelyn Ruth Clary both of Malvern and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 12:00 P. M. at Saint John Cemetery in Grapevine, Arkansas. A visitation will take place on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Brandon’s Mortuary in Malvern.
