Chuck Forster, 94, was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, in Sebring, FL. Chuck was born on September 4, 1926 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Feeling God wanted him to spend his life on the field in Africa giving the gospel, Chuck applied to SIM and was accepted. He arrived in Nigeria in 1954. Shortly thereafter, in 1956, Lois arrived in Nigeria. They were married there in 1958. Chuck and Lois spent nearly 40 years in full time ministry, serving in a variety of places and ministries. In addition to Nigeria, they served in Niger, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, and the US. Chuck’s ministry focused on church planting, one-on-one evangelism, and administrative work. God gave the Forsters a real desire to reach Muslim people for Christ. During the eight years they spent serving with the SIM USA Home Office as Special Representatives, they focused primarily on outreach to Muslims through seminars, literature, and discipleship. The Forsters officially retired in 1994 and moved to the SIM Retirement Village. For Chuck, retirement did not mean an end to ministry. He was involved in the local rescue mission where he taught and preached. Additionally, he wrote tracts to be used for Muslim evangelism and established a mailing ministry to Muslims in the United States. Chuck believed that whatever he did for the Lord was a ministry unto Him. This included acts of kindness, preaching the Word, visiting the sick and discouraged, and showing real concern for others. A memorial service will be held outside in the SIM Sebring Village Circle on Tuesday, March 16 at 11:00am.
