Mr. Charles Hixon Guest Jr. age 88 of Smoke Rise Ridge Blairsville passed away peacefully on Monday August 18, 2025 in the North East GA Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Guest was born on June 24, 1937 in Americus, GA., the son of the late Charles Hixon Guest Sr. and the late Dorothy Bradley Guest. Charles was a veteran of the US National Guard and the Army Reserves. He was a Pilot and owned his own plane. He was an avid golfer and owned and operated his own golf shop for several years. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Deriso Guest in 2015, a daughter, Patricia Zublionis and a brother, Brad Guest. Mr. Guest was a member of Coosa Methodist Church.
Surviving Mr. Guest are two daughters, Cindy Guest and Lynn Lester both of Blairsville, six grandchildren, Randi Orlin, Dennis C. Avera III, Chris Savage, Will Thornton, Steven Savage and Lea Landress, eight great grandchildren, Christoper, Alyssa, Dorian and Dylan Savage, Tripp Avera, Liam , Lily and Lucas Landress, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Interment will be held on Friday August 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Oglethorpe City Cemetery in Oglethorpe, GA. where he will rest with his beloved wife Ellen. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Foundation in Mr. Guest’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the Oglethorpe Cemetery from 1-2:00 pm.
