Not sure what to say?

So very sorry for your loss.

Charles’ legacy lives on in the men and women he trained, the principles he instilled, and the strength of character he demanded from all of us. While we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the lasting impact of his life’s work.

May we honor him by upholding the values he embodied: service, courage, and integrity. Director Long’s voice, wisdom, and leadership will not be forgotten.

Rest in peace, sir. Your watch is complete.

Praying for the Long family!

Johnny and I are so sorry to hear of Charles passing. Prayers for the family.

Going to miss you. You have been a good friend to me and Margaret.

To great uncle Charles, thank you for being so sweet. I'll miss you. I always appreciated how heartfelt you were, even when you were cracking jokes. I'm especially recalling our family reunions of old, your writing to me when I was in the Peace Corps, and visits at Mama Frank's and Mama Long's house. Sending love to the whole family from Durham. I know his loss will be deeply felt.

It was an honor to have served with you. So many of the great ones are gone now. I know you wanted that motorcycle and radar gun when you retired. I am thankful for your training of the next generation, though. Rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss. Prayers for the family.
