Charles's Obituary

Charles Thomas McSparren, 79, of Burkburnett, passed away December 21, 2023.

A Celebration of Charles’ life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Ross, officiating.  Inurnment will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio on January 10, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. with full military honors.  Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.

A son of the late Charlie T. McSparren and Rhoda M. Smith McSparren, Charles was born on December 10, 1944 in Newport, Rhode Island.  Charles served our country proudly in the United States Air Force, retiring as Chief Master Sgt.  He was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church for over 15 years.  Charles was a firearms enthusiast and loved going to the range, and he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sieglinde McSparren of Burkburnett; his step-son, Robert Porter and wife Tiffany of Decatur; his step-daughter, Jackie Avilla and husband Timothy of Phoenix, Arizona; his step-daughter, Lisa Yoowitaya and husband Juls of San Antonio; and his cousin, Frank McSparren of Jacksonville, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in honor of Charles to Liberty Baptist Church, 3116 Borton Ln, Wichita Falls, TX 76306.
