Chuck Murphy was born on April 24, 1958 in Niceville. He passed away March 21, 2018. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Murphy. He is survived by his son Derrick, and daughter Kaitlyn; mother, Kathryn E. Murphy; brothers, Danny Murphy, and Bobby Murphy and his wife Tina; as well as his niece Taylor Murphy, and nephews, Michael Murphy, and Jonathan Murphy.
Chuck enjoyed being in the outdoors; hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a 28 year veteran of law enforcement, working for Okaloosa County Airport Police for 3 years, and for Niceville Police Department for 25 years, where he advanced to the rank of Sergeant.
He was an active member of Rosemont Baptist Church in Niceville, and enjoyed singing bass in a southern gospel trio with Bobby and Tina. He loved the Lord, and his family, and dedicated the last years of his life to ministering to those he could, and taking care of his Mother and Father as their full time caregiver. He was a dedicated Christian, a committed public servant, and a loving father, brother, and son, and will be missed by all who knew him.
For those who wish to pay their respects, there will be visitation at 10:00am with funeral to follow at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 28 at Evans Funeral Home in Florala, Alabama.
