Charles's Obituary

Mr. Charles Edward Pratt, III, of Calhoun, died Sunday, July 31, 2016 at his home following several years of declining health. He was born in Bartow County on August 7, 1938, son of the late Charles Pratt II and the late Eddie Gravely Pratt. Mr. Pratt was a veteran, serving his country in the US Marines. He was a self-employed Electrician, had been employed with the City of Calhoun at the Recycling Center, and had held numerous other jobs. He was a very giving and loving man, and had a heart for everyone. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Barbara Jean Gravitt Pratt; his son, Thomas Pratt of Florida; his daughters, Sherry Pratt Childers, and Jessica Pratt and her fiancé, Leebo Tilley, both of Calhoun; his grandchildren, Marcus Pratt, Nicole Marshall, Tabitha Smith, Allison Dixon, and Jordan Dixon; and his great-grandchildren, Caymon Phipps, Marlee Phipps, Skyler Delp, Jalynn Marshall, Jaxon Marshall, and Julianne Marshall. Special friends, Alfred Harrison, Emory McEntyre, Lori Goswick, Sandy Davis, and Steve Wright survive. "Little" Joe Pratt, whom he thought of as a little brother, nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends, also survive. A Memorial Service to honor the life of Mr. Charles Edward Pratt, III will be held on Saturday, August 6th at 12:00 noon from Tabernacle of Praise, 301 Chatsworth Highway 225, Calhoun, GA 30701. The family would like to thank Gordon Hospital, Gordon Health Care, and Heyman Hospice for their special care of Mr. Pratt.Arrangements are under the care and direction of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun.
