I was sorry to hear of Charles passing. I have very fond memories of Wilson Drugs. / restaurant. Charles was always so kind to everyone. May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times as you celebrate His life.

We are so sorry for your loss. Charles was an institution of Englewood.

Charles was a wonderful neighbor & friend. He always made me smile when we were together. He loved his family so much & I am so blessed to have known & loved him. He will be so missed. ❤

Prayers for all family and friends

Charles was such a good man. He helped so many people. His drugstore was the hangout for my generation and he put up with us in the afternoons. He was a staple in Englewood.

So so sorry for your loss.. Charles was a wonderful person. He always greeted us with a smile everytime we went into his drugstore.. he mill be greatly missed.

Charles's Obituary

Charles Wilson, 86, of Etowah passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025.

Charles was a member of the First Church of God in Englewood. He graduated from Samford University Pharmacy School in 1959. After graduating Charles established Wilson Drugs in Englewood, TN, where he proudly served the surrounding communities for 60 years. When he wasn’t in the pharmacy, he found great joy working on his farm. Charles also enjoyed cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers and loved his family dearly. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Hughey and Roxie Wilson; sister, Judy Anderson; brother, Lenton Wilson; sons, Rickey and Eric Wilson and wife, Nadine Wilson. 

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Beth (David) Truelove and JJ (Jim) Martin; their mother and his dear companion in his later years, Barbara Davis; daughter, Gail (Roy) Rogers; sons, Doug (Brenda) Wampler, Lynn Wampler; grandchildren, Bo Shelley (Keith) Hembree, Jessie (Ben) Kendrick, Abbie (Joseph) Gray, Cody (Danielle) Biggam, Morgan (Jordan) Cass, Karley Greene, Justin Martin, Jordan (Courtney) Miller, Chloe (Patch) Williams, Logan Peeler, Waylon Razmus, Jason (Chrissi) McConkey, Emily (Austin)Liner, Katie Wampler, Lauren (Jeff) Derrick, Andrew Wampler; numerous great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other treasured family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 2, 2025 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Alexander and Pastor Russ Maples officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday prior to the service. 

Family and friends will assemble at Bordwine Funeral Home Friday, October 3rd at 10:00 a.m. and go in procession for the 11:00 a.m. committal service at Green Hill Cemetery.  

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Jim Blair, Len Moses, Jeff Anderson, James Anderson, Bobby Martin and Greg Wilson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
