Charley P. Cheak

Charley Preston Cheak, 97, husband of the late Marjorie Mae Stratton Cheak, passed away August 11, 2024 in Danville, KY.  Born in Anderson County on May 30, 1927, Charley was the son of the late Samuel Everett Cheak and Basel May Siers Cheak.

Along with his wife and parents, Charley was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Cheak and his siblings, Johnie G. Cheak, Carl H. Cheak, and Mae Catherine Lewis.

Charley served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II and later worked at several area distilleries until lastly retiring at Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, KY.  He enjoyed gardening, raising Purple Martins, fishing, and hunting for arrowheads.

He is survived by his children, Ron (wife Suzan) Cheak and Brenda Gayle Holland, both of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren, James Holland, Jr., Contessia (Chad) Cox, and Natasha (Davin Jones) Cheak; 9 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery pavilion.  Bro. Don Wells will officiate.  Military honors will be observed.
