Miss you my dear loving friend. I pray you are at peace.

Praying that God will surround his family with peace and understanding. Charlie will be remembered as a kind and friendly child of God.

I think I have finally come to grips that my cousin and one of my best friends has gone on to greener grounds. Aunt Mag my thoughts and prayers are with you and the Batt's family

Charlie's Obituaries

Mr. Charlie Edward Batts, Jr., age 51 of 6762 Reedy Branch Road, Rocky Mount, NC., passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 at his residence.Charlie E. Batts, Jr., was the son of Magdalene Armstrong-Batts and the late Charlie Edward Batts Sr.Charlie "June Bug" attended Fike High School and later attended A & T University.  Charlie was an entrepreneur. His favorite past time and hobby was working on cars.  He was a devoted father, son, and brother.  He dedicated his life to Christ Jesus at an early age and later moved back home and united with Vaughn's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Lynwood E. Batts.A celebration of his life will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Vaughn's Chapel Church, 4966 Elm City Road, St. Elm City.  Bishop Lynwood Batts will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow at the Armstrong-Taylor Family Cemetery.

Loving memories are forever cherished by; a daughter, Chelsey Batts of Greensboro; his mother, Evangelist  Madgalene Batts of the home; one brother, Bishop Lynwood Earl Batts (Rev. Darlene); a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews; other special relatives and friends.

A public viewing will take place Wednesday from 3:00 pm until-7:00 pm at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 726 Tarboro St. SW., Wilson. The family will receive friends at the residence where they will  also assemble in preparation for the funeral service procession.
