Charlie Miller McGehee, Jr., 81, passed away Sunday August 12, 2012 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mr. McGehee was born December 24, 1930 to the late Charlie Miller, Sr. & Martha Baker McGehee. He was a member of Peace haven Baptist Church and also a member of the Masonic Lodge. Charlie was Plant Manager for Bates Nightwear and he also worked for YVEDDI. Surviving are his wife of 61 years Mary Michael McGehee, of the home; two daughters Pat (Kenneth) Snider, Gin (Leo) Harris; a son Mike McGehee; grandchildren Kandi, Mikki, Terri, Tony, Wendy, Carla, Courtney, and Michael; great grandchildren Dustin and Zeb Campbell of the home; Tiffany, Josh, Nathan, Jonathan, Arnold, Danelle, Addi; two great-great-grandsons Jackson and Lucus; one brother Clarence (Shelvia) McGehee. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday August 14, 2012 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Peace Haven Baptist Church by Rev. George Evans. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for the loving care given to Mr. McGehee.
