Cherri Dawn Dahlvig

Age ~ 70

Cherri Dawn Dahlvig, 70, of Rhinelander, passed away on Friday evening, October 17, 2025, at Friendly Village Nursing Home and under the care of Aspirus at Home Hospice.

Cherri was born in Tomahawk on June 14, 1955, to Curtis E. and Dorothy E. (Charbarneau) Thomas. She was raised in Rhinelander attending Rhinelander public schools and in 1973, she graduated from Rhinelander High School. Cherri met her future husband, Ronald Dahlvig through a mutual friend, and on May 15, 1976, the couple were married at First United Methodist Church of Rhinelander. Cherri remained at home taking care of their two children until their daughter April attended school. She was employed in the school district of Rhinelander, at James Williams Junior High, working as a special education para-professional for over ten years. Cherri needed to retire due to health issues.

Cherri was a member of First United Methodist Church of Rhinelander. 

She enjoyed stamping. But most of all Cherri loved her family, especially her granddaughters.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ron, daughter, April Dahlvig (Jason Lillis) of Rhinelander, two granddaughters, Viktorya and Makenzie, siblings, Tammy (Scott) Hansen, of Rothschild, and Curt Thomas of Rhinelander. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Kory Dahlvig in 2010, and a sister-in-law, Carol Thomas. 

The visitation for Cherri will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at First United Methodist Church of Rhinelander, located at 724 Arbutus Street, from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral service. Pastor Mike Zahn will officiate. Immediately following the service, there will be a procession to Forest Home Cemetery for the committal service.

Cherri’s family would like to extend a special thank you, to all the care givers at Friendly Village for the kindness and compassion that you provided her.
