So sorry to see this. My prayers are with all Ed, Mary and all family. Peace.

We were so very sorry to hear of Cheryl's passing. I fondly remember her from when I worked at Thumb Industries and the times we worked at the thrift store together. She was such a sweet and kind person, and so easy to talk to. I will miss her smile and her hugs. To all of her family and friends, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. May the angels welcome her into paradise! God bless you always and may He hold you all especially close during this most difficult time to...

Cheryl was Beautiful person Body and Soul. The consolation of her leaving this earth so young is she suffers no more. Jesus took her to Himself. Tim her Soul lives for all eternity. It is our Love and Faith that we continue to pray our loved one that she is all the way home in Heaven by the escort of God's Holy Heavenly Angels and Her Guardian Angel. She is safe. My Heart goes out to you, your children, Grandchildren, all your family members, and Cheryl's siblings & all their family members....

I'm so sorry to hear about Cheryl passing. I always enjoyed talking to her on my mail route. Sending prayers and hugs.

It was always a pleasure speaking with Cheryl. Her presence was always so comforting and her home so welcoming. I thank her for the kind conversations we have had and for the times she had shared with our daughter throughout the years. Cheryl, you have done a great job in this life and will be greatly missed.

Cheryl's Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Cheryl Ann (Nicholson) Lapka, of Kinde, 55 years old, on Friday December 10, 2021 from a long battle with COVID.

Cheryl was born on September 6, 1966 to Edward and Mary Nicholson.

Cheryl married Tim Lapka on May 26, 2006. They were married for 15 years, and made their home in the Kinde area. Cheryl enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, working on numerous crafts, cooking and baking, and her biggest joy was the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

Cheryl is survived by her husband Tim, parents Ed and Mary Nicholson; children: Nicholas, Kelsey, Lauren, Ryleigh, and Lindsey (Brian); her grandchildren: Makenzie, Madelyn, Kacyn, Edward and Daniel; her sisters: Wendy (Mark) Franks, their children Jacob, Jordan, Chelsea; Heidi (Kirk) Histed and daughter Hope; Marcy (Heath) Wehrman and son Elisha; She is also survived by her brothers –in-law: Richard (Sharon) Sobzak, Charles Lapka, Andrew (Sue) Lapka;  sister-in-law, Deborah Lapka; and uncle Paul Santhany.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother; her grandparents, Nelson and Irene Santhany, Edward and Erna Nicholson; and sister-in-law Sally Lapka, and uncle Don Santhany.

Per Cheryl’s wishes, cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, Michigan.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe with Rev. William O’Nan officiating.  Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 12 noon until time of service.

MASKS WILL BE MANDATORY AT THE FUNERAL HOME.

Memorials may be offered to the family in care of her husband, Tim Lapka.
