Not sure what to say?

Our memories of Cheryl are special. The last time John and I got to visit was 2 years ago. Even though I seldom got to see her, she was in our prayers and memories of our times in Duluth were special. Miss her but am thankful her struggles are over. Praying for Dwight and family.

We would like to give our condolences to Pastor Turbett and the entire family. Mrs Turbett has left a lasting legacy of kindness, christian love and beautiful music on those of us who were at FBC during her time here. We will continue to pray for you all as you grieve her loss but also rejoice in her homegoing to glory.

Cheryl's Obituary

Adoringly known as a sister, mother, wife, and friend, Cheryl Mae Turbett passed away Thursday, June 27th, 2024, at Good Shepard Hospice. In her final days, her family came to visit her and sang her songs to help comfort her and share their love with her.

Cheryl’s mother and father, the late George and Evelyn Carlson, welcomed her into the world on June 25th, 1946, in Chicago, IL. She completed high school and earned her bachelor’s degree in education. In her early twenties, Cheryl fell in love with Dwight Turbett, and they were happily married for 56 years through thick and thin. The Turbett family moved around the country and grew together, bringing their four children into the world. Cheryl and Dwight have been residents of Highlands County since 2018.

Her loved ones remember her as a musical woman who loved the water. You could often find Cheryl playing the piano and singing with her family and at church. She loved being a pastor’s wife and giving love to her children and grandchildren. In her free time, Cheryl enjoyed exercising and swimming in the pool with her friends, going to the beach, and boating on the lake.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Dwight Turbett; her children Kari (Ted), Marit (Brad), and Sean (Becky) of Michigan; and her siblings, Gail (Paul), Priscilla (Rich), and sister-in-law Connie Carlson. She has ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son Timothy, her sibling Gerry Carlson, and her parents George and Evelyn Carlson.

A memorial service will be held in the Maranatha Baptist Church auditorium on Saturday, July 6th, 2024. The visitation will be at 10 a.m., with a service to follow at 11 a.m. Please join the Turbett family to honor the life of Cheryl Turbett, a woman full of kindness and unwavering love.
