Cheryle's Obituary

 

Cheryle Lynn (Hayman) Knight, 77, of Hartford, WV, passed away February 16, 2026, in Ohio State University East following an extended illness. 

She was born August 26, 1948, in Racine, OH, a daughter of the late Harry and Vera M. (Swan) Hayman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert Carroll Knight, daughter Linda Little and stepdaughter, Teresa VanMeter along with several brothers and sisters. 

She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her cats, sewing, cooking and going to church services. She attended the Hobson Church, Middleport, OH and was a member of the Dan Hayman and the Country Hymn Timers gospel group. 

Survivors include her daughter, Becky Knight of Hartford, WV; stepson, David (Rhonda) Knight of Orient, OH; grandchildren, Candace, Shane, Erika, Matt, Cole, Bradley, Chandler and Brandon; four great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters. 

Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Friday, February 20, 2026, at Foglesong-Casto Funeral Home, Mason, WV. Burial will follow in Graham Baptist Church Cemetery, New Haven, WV with Pastor Mike Finnicum officiating. Visitation will be from 12 o’clock noon until time-of-service Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to the Mason County Animal Shelter, 1965 Fairground Road, Point Pleasant, WV 25550.
