Not sure what to say?

It was a pleasure to have met you Kirby, and I will think of you always. Thank you for allowing me into your life.

We extend our deepest sympathy to PK, Wander, and all the family during this time of loss. Our hearts go out to you, and we share in your sorrow. Please know that you are surrounded by love and support from all who knew and cared for Chris. May you find comfort and strength in the cherished memories you hold. We will continue to hold you all in our hearts and our prayers.

So incredibly heartbroken to hear of the loss of Kirby! He was such a bright light! One of the best people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting! To know him was to love him, no doubt! His infectious personality and unmatched humor will be greatly missed! Sending hugs and countless prayers to his family! ♥

I met Kirby when I was in High school. I came to visit my best friend who lived in Georgia. We immediately became friends. He was my first love, although I was 17 at the time, he swept me off my feet with his sense of humor and wit. I will always remember him as a loving caring man.

Wanda, I was so saddened to hear you lost your son. My heart is breaking for you. I lost my youngest daughter in 2009 and remember that feeling of loss. I know you will see your son again on the other side. I send you prayers for comfort for you and your family.

I am sending my love to his Mom, my friend of over 50 years. In sorrow, Harriet

Wanda and family. I am so sorry for your loss. We can hold on to the promise of a reunion one day. Please let me know of anything I can do. We can talk when your ready. I love your family. Love Teresa Sanders

Obituary

Christopher's Obituary

Christopher Alex Kirby was born 42 years ago in Fort Walton Beach Florida.  He was the youngest child born to Paul and Wanda Kirby and welcomed by his brother Jeremy Kirby and his sister Rebekah Kirby.  With a birth weight of ten pounds, he was a strong, happy baby who grew into a witty adult that kept his family and friends in stitches.

His humor and charm served him well as he worked in the food industry.  From the bar at Hilton in D.C., the table guests at Henry’s in Denver, to the tourists and locals at Columbia in St. Augustine…Oh, the stories he could tell. Not to mention the number of recipes and kitchen skills he picked up for all kinds of wonderful dishes.

He had a tender heart for the hurting and the lonely which included both humans and animals.   Although he traveled from one coast to the other as a military ‘brat,’ and east to west and back again on his own travels, it seemed to serve him well when interacting with people from all walks of life.

With all the ups and downs in our family, from squabbles and estrangements to celebrations and victories of all kinds, laughter and love always prevailed. We are saddened he left us so soon in his life, but our Lord and Savior will shelter him until we all meet again in eternity.  In addition to his family, Chris leaves behind a daughter, Bailey Kirby and a son, Haydn Kirby.

Our loving son will be laid to rest next to his grandparents at Brooks Cemetary on August 14, 2024.  The funeral service will be held at Davis-Watkins Chapel, 113 Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach FL at 10:00, followed by the burial. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Augustine Recovery, 3930 US Hwy 1, South, St. Augustine FL 32086, or Messianic Jewish Alliance of America, mjaa.org.
