Christopher Joel Underwood, 48, of Blanchard, died Friday, September 19, 2025, in Blanchard, with his family by his side. The son of Calvin Dean Underwood and Jo Ann (Rich) Underwood, Chris was born on February 25, 1977, in Claremore.
Chris was a 1995 graduate of Byng High School, where he played baseball. When he was younger, he enjoyed Tae Kwon Do. Chris was a talented musician and could play both guitar and bass. He loved playing and listening to all types of music, especially heavy metal. Chris was a Chickasaw and was very proud of his heritage. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Phyllis Rich, and Louis and Tressie Underwood; and his father Calvin Underwood.
Chris is survived by his wife, Kristy Sherrill of Blanchard; one son, Rueben Sherrill of Blanchard; his mother, Jo Underwood of Blanchard; one sister, Cali Underwood and her husband, George Johnson, of Norman; a niece, Megan Johnson of Norman; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many other relatives and friends.
A private burial will be held in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
