In loving memory of a wonderful person. I have so many great memories, especially from Girl Scouts. So sorry to hear about your loss.

So very sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. What a great lady. I wish I could be there. It’s been so long since we’ve been in touch. Jay and I offer our condolences to you, M’s and everyone in your family. Many wonderful memories of growing up include your family.

I honor this amazing woman who gave so much of her time and service and earned much respect from family and strangers. Thank you for the beautiful family that you gave to this world. Your love ripples through them touching others’ lives. Rest in peace blessed jewel.

Claire's Obituary

Claire W. Emig, 95, formerly of Whitehall, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehab., Allentown, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late George J. Emig, who passed away in 1995. Born March 3, 1930, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late John and Anne (Hasson) Weeks. Claire began her career as a teacher at Our Lady Help of Christians, where she taught for seven years. She went on to serve as the Director of Religious Education at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Stiles for 13 years. A devoted parishioner of St. John’s Church, Claire volunteered in numerous roles—including lector and Eucharistic minister—for more than 30 years. Her commitment to faith and community extended beyond her parish, as she also volunteered with the Diocese Department of Education and the Speakers Bureau of the Catholic Social Agency. Claire was deeply involved with the Girl Scouts, dedicating over 25 years to the former Great Valley Girl Scouts Council (now Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania), where she held various leadership roles and was honored with the prestigious “Thanks Badge” in 1987.

Survivors: her children, Edward, Michael and wife, Nancy, Frank and wife, Cathy, Anne and husband, Ming Wan, Dorothy Emig, Mary McNulty and husband, Kevin, Catherine Rothrock and husband, Thomas, Patricia Emig, Regina Mayberry and husband, Stephen, and Theresa Emig; 27 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Claire was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, MJ, brothers, Robert and John, and sister, Marie. 

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 25th at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 3024 S. Ruch St., Whitehall. Family and friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to the church in Claire’s memory. Online condolences may be offered below.
