I just learned of his passing today, my most heartfelt condolances. I meet Clarence in Great Lakes Il. in the fall of 1972, when I completed Navy bootcamp and went across the road to get orders for my first duty station, Clarence was there he was the Senior Enlisted Advisor for Navel Trainning command as I recall. My Father was a great example of commitment. Serving 21 years in the Navy and achieving the rank of Master Chief. He was a good father and taught his children good things. The best thing that ever happened to him was when he met and married Erika(mom). I will always love you and never forget you

I served with Clarence aboard USS Camberra during the Vietnam War. CIC was a busy and important function during operations off the Vietnam coastline. I was an electronics technician responsible for maintaining the communication equipment. Clarence ran the show and made CIC operate at a very high level.
