Clarence Edward Ragland, Sr., 76, of Confederate Boulevard, Appomattox died Thursday morning November 13, 2014 at his residence. On Monday November 10, 2014 he and his wife Audrey Greene Ragland celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.Clarence was born in Appomattox County November 13, 1938 a son of the late Louise Mae Bryant and Lewis Douglas Ragland. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and served his country as a member of the Virginia National Guard. Clarence was an employee of Harrison Timber Products for 28 years.In addition to his wife Audrey, Clarence is survived by a son Clarence Edward (Eddie) Ragland, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl; two daughters, Virginia (Gail) Martin and Grover Hall of Appomattox, Catherine (Cathy) Kelsey and husband, Hardy of Prospect; four grandchildren, Angie Tyree and Randy, Crystal Ranson and David, Mandy Ragland and Adam Moore, Celena Kelsey; five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, William, and Raegan Tyree, Brennan and Bennett Ranson; four brothers, Jack Ragland and wife, Alice; Herman Ragland and wife, Kathy; Roger Ragland and wife, Tammy all of Appomattox; Robert Ragland and wife, Diane of Pamplin; two sisters-in-law, Helen Ragland and Shirley Stanley and his mother-in-law, Ruby Greene.He was preceded in death by four brothers, Buck, Austin, James and Delmas Ragland; sister, Virginia R. Spiggle; son-in-law, Kevin Martin and nephews, Del and R. L. Ragland. Funeral services will be held 3PM Saturday November 15, 2014 at Glory Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Chris Brooks and the Rev. Jeff Worley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service beginning at 2PM.The family wishes to thank the staff of Centra Hospice of Farmville for their care and concern for Clarence and his family during this time.Those wishing to make memorials please consider the Building Fund of Glory Baptist Church, P.O.
