Clay's Obituary

Clay Alan Williamson, 50, passed away on April 8, 2025 in Dallas, Texas. He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 16, 1974 to John and Carolyn (Hale) Williamson. As soon as Clay was potty-trained, he was with his dad learning how to farm and ranch the family business.

Clay graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1993. He was active in the Iowa Park FFA chapter where he showed pigs, and placed 1st in the state of Texas for Cereal Grain Production Proficiency, Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Award, and the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award. Not only did Clay earn his Greenhand and Lone Star Degrees, he was also awarded the highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization, the American FFA Degree. After graduation, Clay attended Vernon Regional Junior College, then transferred to Tarleton State University, where he graduated in 1997, majoring in Agriculture Economics.  Clay worked various jobs after graduation including selling insurance and cars, and Howmet. After the passing of his father in 2007, Clay made the decision to be the 5th generation to run the family farm and ranch.

Clay married Geneen McAlister on January 1, 2000. They have two sons, Joshua and Jacob. Clay loved his family so much. He never missed a class party, ball game, marching contest, or band concert for Joshua and Jacob. He played UNO at least once a week with his mom and sister, where they’d poke fun at each other, and catch up on life. Clay enjoyed driving around the countryside looking at the crops, stopping by the feed store or the elevator to catch up with the other farmers and ranchers.

Clay is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Celia Williamson and Ervin and Bess Hale; and his dad, John Williamson, Jr.

His survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Geneen; two sons, Joshua and Jacob; his mother, Carolyn Williamson; one sister, Katy Young and husband Jody; and his niece, Hadley, all of Iowa Park.

The family will receive friends between 3 and 5 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.  The service will be held at 10:00 a.mm on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park with Tim Franks and Joe Howard Williamson, officiating. Interment will follow the service at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
