Cleveland's Obituaries

Cleveland ‘CM’ McIntyre Leggett Jr., age 91, of Fairmont passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC.

Visitation will be Friday, January 25, 2019 from 1:30PM-3:00PM at Fairmont First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Fairmont.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 at 3PM at Fairmont First Baptist Church in Fairmont

Burial will follow in Floyd Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Leggett was born October 22, 1927 in Robeson County. He was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He also was a Veteran in the United States Navy. He was a long time member of Fairmont First Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland McIntyre Leggett Sr. and Mae Bullock Leggett; his wife Norma Lou Sealey Leggett; one daughter Kathy Rose Leggett; one brother, Carlos Leggett; and four sisters, Annie Britt, Lizzie Sealy, Esba Bennett, and Katheen Bullock.

He is survived by one son, Tom Leggett and wife Nan of Whiteville; four daughters, Jenny Boaz and husband Mike of Enterprise, AL, Susie Thrasher and husband Billy of Clayton, NC, June Floyd and husband Frank of Fairmont, and Lisa Ivey and husband Mark of Smithfield, NC; fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Fairmont First Baptist Church 416 S. Main St. Fairmont, NC 28340.
