Clifford Walter Meyer was born to Walter Meyer and Myrtle E (Maass) Meyer on November 12, 1933, in Okarche Oklahoma. At home and surrounded by his family, Clifford left to go to his heavenly home on July 5, 2025. Clifford was born and raised in Okarche with his brothers on a dairy farm. He was a natural born farmer and continued to farm for most of his life. Raised as a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Clifford served very faithfully in the church and held several offices for many years. Additionally, he also served for many years on the AAL board which later became Thrivent. Clifford enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until 1957 and then continued to serve in the Reserves until 1962.
On May 10, 1958, Clifford married the love of his life Dolores Ann Yeck. Clifford and Dolores had four children, Michael Meyer, Terry Meyer, Janell (Meyer) Bussey and Larry Meyer. The family continued to farm, harvesting, milking cows, and raising animals in Okarche until Clifford stopped actively farming and they moved to town. After Clifford “retired” from farming he went to work at Kingfisher High School, where he did maintenance and mowed all the school yards and the football fields. Clifford was known for making the football field perfect. When Clifford officially retired from working, he continued to stay busy, by taking his grandkids places and running farm errands of getting pig feed, going to sporting events and traveling to see family. Clifford never liked to sit around and would sometimes just drive around and look at the fields and cattle. He was the happiest when he was with family, traveling for pleasure or visiting family, decorating Christmas cookies, playing dominoes and coloring easter eggs. Clifford never knew a stranger and loved to visit with people. He also loved taking pictures and always had a camera in his hand at any event he attended.
Clifford was survived by his Wife, Dolores of 67 years, along with his four children, Michael Meyer of Salina, Kansas, Terry Meyer of Okarche, Oklahoma, Janell Bussey and husband Jerry of Como, Mississippi, and Larry Meyer and wife Shelli of Bethany Oklahoma. Clifford is also survived by seven Grandchildren, Scott Meyer and wife Mandy, Tabitha Gilliland and husband Chris, Greg Meyer and wife Emilie, Crystal Mayo and husband Clayton, Clay Meyer and wife Liz, Dustin Marinelli and wife Kaywin, and Danny Meyer. As well as thirteen great grandchildren, Cassye, Haley, Ryan, Tyler, Audyn, Christina, Lily, Branch, Ruthie, Owen, Wesley, Auroa, and Josie.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Myrtle Meyer; two brothers, Melvin and Virgil Meyer; sister-in-law, Mary Meyer; and daughter in law, Denise Meyer.
