Clovis Harold Smith, 88, went home to be with the Lord on February 22, 2026.
A Celebration of Clovis’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, March 2, 2026 in the chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett, Texas.
Clovis was born in La Mesa, Texas on August 26, 1937 to Woodrow Smith and Irene Pugh Smith. He graduated from Stanton High School and attended Texas Tech University. Clovis was employed by Texas Electric as a lineman and later retired from Oncor as a manager at the age of fifty-five.
He was previously married to Jan Nichols, and to Linda Ingram for thirty-nine years until her passing in 2020. He later married Jo Ann Cline on April 27, 2022.
Clovis loved to play golf, enjoy the lake while fishing, and just sitting on the patio enjoying nature especially with an ice cream cone in his rocking chair. He enjoyed when anyone stopped by for a visit, especially his visits with his grandchildren. He loved going to Church and being with his Church Family and attending Bible Study Class. He enjoyed listening to music, now he is singing praises with his Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Donald.
He leaves behind a son, Gregory Mark Smith (Robin) of White Settlement, Texas; daughter, Sharla Wells of Midland, Texas; grandchildren, Richard Brown (Nicole) of Montz, Louisiana, Michael Wells of Midland, Josh Smith of Spring, Texas, Dondi Graham (Josh) of Grand Falls, Texas, Brandy Fowler of Azle, Texas, Shayla Smith of Spring, Texas, and Laura Haney of Smithfield, Texas. He also leaves behind his bonus family, Charles Cline (Leslie) of Covington, Texas, and John Cline of Iowa Park, Texas; grandchildren, Katelynn Cline, Kaira Cline of both Granbury, Texas, Shiloh Cline of Burkburnett, Texas, Kalleigh Cline of Covington, Texas, Jacob Walker (Lia) of Covington, Texas and Cameron Whatley (Dannell) of Covington, Texas; twelve great-grandchildren; four bonus great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
