Clyde Whitt, 81, of Belfry, KY, passed away on Sept. 11, 2025, at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Clyde was born on March 12, 1944, at Ransom, KY, to the late Vernon and Sadie Coleman Whitt. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by is sister, Juanita (Bob) Moore and his brother, Claude Herman Whitt. Clyde was a retired electrician for Eastern Coal Company and a member of the Unite Mine workers of America. Clyde was a musician and played every instrument you could think of. He was of the Baptist faith.
Clyde is survived by his loving wife, Maxine Whitt, daughters; Neta Maynard and Kelly (Philip) Justice and son Clyde E. (Gina) Whitt. His sister, Loretta Davis and brother Clarence Whitt. Clyde is also survived by his grandchildren, Miranda Ailiff, Bryson Ailiff, Cassie (Mike) Dotson, Philip Corey (Bre) Justice, Hannah Scales, Matthew Clay Whitt, Kristen LeAnn Kassee, Keisha Nashae Houston, and Kylie Lynn Whitt, great grandchildren, Kennedy Dotson, Leah Dotson, Emma Dotson, Rayleigh Dotson, Owen Dotson, Abrianna Justice, Airella Justice, Anna Marie Justice, Adam Corey Justice and Amiri Rines, his special nephew, Benny Lee Stump, his best friend, James Keene and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Monday Sept. 15, 2025, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Lemual Little and Lee Dotson Jr, officiating. Burial will follow at the Family Cemetery, Burnwell, KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Saturday and Sunday night at the funeral home with special singing Saturday night at 7 PM and a special service Sunday night at 7 PM. R. E.
