Coach John L. Allen, Sr.

Meadowbrook was lucky to have you. And I was beyond fortunate to call you Coach. Thank you for believing in me on and off the track. Much love.

I was on Coach Allen's first track-and-field team at PHS, and he was also my position coach as a wide receiver on the football team. He was a wonderful coach and an inspirational leader. I am still occasionally reminded of some of the lessons he taught me. Coach Allen also had the perfect running form as a sprinter, and I always marveled at watching him run.

I am sorry to hear about your lost. Coach Allen, was my track coach at Meadowbrook High School he was a great teacher, mentor, and one hell of a coach. He will be missed.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

He was my football coach at PHS 1978. I graduated in 1981.The three years being around Coach Allen was a blessing. He instilled a toughness in me. He was a great man and mentor.
I was shocked and now sad in reading of his passing. Prayers sent to his family.

One of the most influential people I’ve known. I may not have recognized the impact he would have on my life, back in the early 80s at PHS, but I have been amazed at how many times life makes me think of Coach, and the things I learned from him. Truly a great man.

Coach Allenwas such a blessing to us young boys looking for depth and directions. I remember him fondly sharing so many positive conversations about life, females/relationships, and representing our community. I still share and use his thoughtful insights.
