She was a special grandmother. Her compassion and thoughtfulness set an important example for me. She taught me the value of kindness, patience, and fun. I was so sorry to hear about Connie's passing. We worked together a few years at Stockdale, Inc. in Estherville before she went to the Okoboji office. I always enjoyed visiting with her later on and will miss those times. My deepest sympathies, Mike and family.

She had a heart that always gave — not just gifts, but time, care, and attention. Whether it was a treasure from a flea market or a small surprise from a garage sale, she had a way of finding just the right thing to make someone feel seen and loved. Her thoughtful spirit touched everyone who knew her, and her kindness will live on in the memories and hearts of family and friends. She was a true giver — not for recognition, but because caring was simply who she was. We will miss your kind...

Connie Sue Tischer, daughter of Eugene and Arlene (Enger) Flynn was born April 29, 1951 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She began her education in Rodman and then attended Emmetsburg Community School, graduating from Emmetsburg High School in 1969. She continued her education at Iowa Lakes Community College completing the secretarial program. Connie then began her employment as a secretary with Stockdale, Inc. in Estherville in 1971. With her keen eye for details, friendly personality, and steadfast loyalty, she soon became indispensable, taking on many roles.
On June 14, 1974 Connie was united in marriage to Mike Tischer in Estherville, Iowa. They were blessed with two sons, Brian and Chad.
After her formal employment ended, the Stockdale relationship continued as a treasured friend and advisor. She later worked at Secure Benefits in Spirit Lake, retiring in 2013.
Connie enjoyed doing ceramics, making many beautiful items for family and friends. She liked going to Flea Markets and garage sales, collecting Beanie Babies, Oreo Cookie items and the Penguin from Batman. Connie’s family was her greatest joy. She loved decorating her home for the holidays to celebrate with them as well as family get togethers and card parties. A special time for Connie was building Lego projects with her grandchildren. Connie also loved to go fishing but she never wanted to put the worms on the hook or take the fish off that she caught. She also liked to occasionally go to the casino with her family.
