Constance's Obituary

Constance “Connie” Anne Chalfant Debler was born in Craig, Colorado March 29, 1962, to Margaret and Eugene Chalfant, the 6th of 7 siblings. She set the tone for her life by entering this world in the hospital hall, no delivery room for her. Her early childhood was spent roaming Wyoming with the family landing in Ten Sleep, WY. After her dad’s passing, Margaret met and married Jim Groves, adding more stepbrothers and sister to the family and moving to Riverton, WY. In 1975 found Connie in Cheyenne, WY where she attended school through her graduation from East High and starting Laramie County Community College. In 1981 she married her husband, Kevin. Their travels continued to Phoenix, AZ, Brenham, and Temple, TX, and finally to Patterson, CA. In Patterson, she became a member of the Federated Church’s family, the local PTA, and was a supporter of all her children’s activities. After a lengthy illness, Connie passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026.

Connie is proceeded in death by her mom, Margaret Groves and brothers, Jerry and Kevin Chalfant. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kevin; children, Breanna (Stephen) McCleod, Taylor Debler, Kristan (Heath) Sims and adopted daughter, Sarah Littlefield; grandson, Abram Littlefield and her siblings, Linda Debos, Cyndi (Tom) Patras, Richard (Carol) Chalfant, Debbie (Doug) Merrit, Mark Groves, Bryan Groves, Jeff “Shane” Groves, Laura Bloch, Cameron “Corey” Groves and her adopted sister Mona Patrick.

Per Connie’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at the Federated Church, with family in Oregon, Utah and Wyoming, with her ashes returning to the Wyoming she loved.
