Consuelo's Obituary

Consuelo R. Lara born on October 27, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2025, at the age of 83. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arturo Lara; parents, Oscar and Dolores Rodriguez; sister, Linda Curd; brothers, Oscar Rodriguez Jr., George Rodriguez, and Richard Rodriguez; daughter in law, Teresa Sanchez Lara. 

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth De La Garza and husband, Manuel De La Garza; sons, Arturo Lara Jr. and wife Oralia Ramirez Lara, Louis R. Lara and wife Stacia L. Lara; brother, Joe S. Rodriguez; grandchildren, Dawnette, Art III, Alex, Louis Jr., Clare, and Angelica; great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Ariel, and Nora- Kate.  Extended family and friends. Her presence in our lives will be dearly missed.

Consuelo, best known as ‘Chelo’; the family’s Matriarch whom leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, laughter, and unconditional love that will live through all of us. She was also a proud military wife and mother.

Procession will depart Hillcrest on Thursday, January 15th, 2026, at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Mass at San Juan De Los Lagos Catholic church. Burial to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery for an 11:30 AM arrival.
