Corey's Obituary

On June 29, 2025 another angel gained his wings.  Corey Derrick Bedenbaugh was called to his new resting place at 30 year of age.  He was born in Augusta, GA to the parents of Lisa Bedenbaugh Middleton and Wallace Derrick Bryant.

He loved life as long as he had his Katie "Bear" DrePreker at his side and his fur baby Tiger.  At a young age he was diagnosed with epilepsy.  He struggled a lot of days when he was younger, not understanding why he felt alone and why the disease happened to him.

He had some amazing people in his life that made him have more good days than bad; Katie "Bear", Alexis Jackson, Princess Beard, Patrick Rondeau, Jakayla Bedenbaugh (once his guardian angel) and Tyler Greenawalt made sure he lived life to the fullest.  They could bring out the goofy laugh and big heart.  He was a huge fan of the Clemson Tigers, his fancy shoes and hanging out at the track.  He would have been a great football player, now nothing is holding him back.

Corey was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Franklin Bedenbaugh and Wallace C. Bryant.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Lisa Bedenbaugh Middleton; his father Wallace D. Bryant; grandmothers, Fredia Bedenbaugh "Nana" and Bessie Bryant; great grandmother, Estelle Fendley; sisters, Princess Beard, Dyne' Cook and Jocelyn Bryant; two aunts, two uncles, five nieces, five nephews, seven cousins and three second cousins.

Watching him with the lil ones, Legend, LJ, Jax and Jean "Bean" was a big entertainment until they stepped on his shoes.  There was going to be trouble to pay; not really, he was all bark and no bite.  It always made us laugh.

In honor of Corey there will be a celebration of life held in Augusta, GA on August 17, 2025 from 1:30pm to 5:30pm at the Wes Dam Lake in Appling, GA.

We will remember the person he was in our hearts and all he left behind.  Epilepsy didn't define him.  It was an uncurable disease, but he still found strength in who he was.  Pray for all those that struggle with Epilepsy and that they find strength in others and faith in Jesus.

Flowers can be sent to 915 17th Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504.
