Not sure what to say?

I have fond memories of Corey welcoming my visits to Illinois with a wonderful piano piece and a big smile! Ha! Ha! Corey made it a point to talk and catch up with me. His sence of humor and laid back way was fun to be around. Corey was so supportive of his parents. That really stood out to me. Know that I am praying for you, Corey! You are loved! Your cousin, Amy Drick

To Vic, Elaine, Brad and Sarah: I am so sorry to hear about Corey's passing. I was one year before him in school and remember him well. I'm sorry we weren't closer as second cousins. My deepest sympathy to you all. RIP Corey.

Corey,

Growing up, I felt like I was part of the Splitt family because I was always at your house with Brad. Some of my best memories include the intense ping pong battles we had — games that felt like championships every time — and the laughs that came with them.

I’ll never forget the family trip to Florida we all took together. Those moments were simple, but they meant everything, and they are memories I will always hold onto.

You were incredibly talented,...

Corey's Obituary

Corey Charles Splitt, age 63, of Naperville, Illinois, passed away on March 13, 2026. Corey was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose intelligence, kindness, and thoughtful nature touched the lives of many.

Corey was born on June 14, 1962, and grew up in Lemont, Illinois. He attended DePaul University in Chicago and later earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he achieved Dean’s List honors. Corey built a successful career as an attorney and later established his own law practice, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Corey possessed an extraordinary intellect and qualified for the Mensa program. Yet those who knew him best admired him just as much for his humility, kindness, and devotion to his family. He was especially dedicated to his parents, Victor and Elaine, always making sure they were cared for and supported.

Corey shared a close bond with his siblings, Brad Splitt and Sarah Melion, and was preceded in death by his brother, Mark, in 2020.

Outside of his career, Corey had many passions. He loved reading and, over the course of his life, read more than a thousand books. He was also an exceptionally talented piano player who played regularly and found great joy in music. Corey enjoyed going to the gym and valued the friendships and conversations he shared with friends there.

Corey adored his loyal dog, Duffy, who was a constant companion. He was also a proud and loving uncle to his nephews, Grant, Ben, and Jake, who meant the world to him. Corey cherished his extended family and shared a special bond with his many cousins.

Corey is survived by his loving parents, Victor and Elaine Splitt; his brother, Brad Splitt (his wife Jennifer); his sister, Sarah Melion; his nephews, Grant, Ben, and Jake; his many cousins; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Markiewicz Funeral Home in Lemont, Illinois.

A funeral Mass for Corey will be held at 8:00 AM on Saturday, March 21, at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 608 Sobieski St., Lemont, IL 60439

Though Corey is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing he is in heaven, smiling down on those he loved and resting in peace.
