Craig Brandt Bockwoldt, age 59, of Durant, IA, died on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his home.Craig was born April 8, 1956 to Robert and Delorus (Brandt) Bockwoldt in Davenport, IA. Craig graduated from Durant High School in 1975 and from Scott Community College in 1977. He married Deb Sandry in 1985 in Durant, IA.Craig was a millwright at Gerdau Ameristeel in Wilton, IA.He was an active member of the former Durant Jaycees and in his youth, he participated in Muscatine County 4-H. He enjoyed working with wood, bowling and playing pool. His greatest joy was being outdoors on the tractor.Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 2-5 P.M., at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant, IA. Additional visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.Services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015, at 10:00 A.M. at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Durant, IA. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Sandry, Larry Meyer, Ed Meyer, Cal Lilienthal, Gary Brandt, Steve Brandt and Don Moeller. Interment will take place at the Durant Cemetery, Durant, IA.Craig is survived and lovingly remembered by his daughter: Aimee (Josh) Morgan of Lakeville, MN, his sons: Lee (Jody) Bockwoldt of Florida and Christopher (Katie) Bockwoldt of Apple Valley, MN, 5 grandchildren, his parents Robert and Delorus Bockwoldt of Durant, IA, his sisters: Jane (Gary) Johnson of Newton, IA, Kathy Hulsebusch of Forest Lake, MN and Amy (Trinidad) Alcaraz of Shoreline, WA and his brother James (Barbara) Bockwoldt of St. Charles, MO.He was preceded in death by his grandparents.Memorial donations may be made to Durant Community Center or the Durant Ambulance Service in his memory.
