My heartfelt condolences are extended to the family & friends of Mr. Curlie Locklear during this most difficult time. I pray that Gods caring and comforting presence will be bestowed upon you and help ease the pain of your loss.

My deepest condolences to Brother Curlie's family. Praying for God's great comfort and peace to sooth the hurt in your hearts. Another child of God, gone home.

My Heart has been heavy with the death of my friend. But I know he has fought the fight and has won the race.May the Holy spirit comfort my Locklear family. We Love you all Sue and Michael Sanderson.

Curlie's Obituary

Mr. Curlie Locklear, age 82, of Lumberton passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton.

He was born July 31, 1943 in Sampson County to the late Wilbert Locklear and the late Maddie Locklear.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Locklear and Vander Locklear; three sisters, Wilma Murray, Alice Locklear and Christa Bell Locklear.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Flora Chavis Locklear of the home; four sons, Kip C. Locklear (Sandra) and Kenny Locklear (Christy) both of Lumberton, Mark Locklear of the home, and Jamie Locklear (Towonaka) of Rowland; one brother, Wilford Locklear (Melissa) of Laurinburg; five sisters, Ann Jones (Martin), Ethel Locklear, Sheila Lowery (David), Carol Chavis (David) all of Lumberton and Lora Oxendine of Maxton; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. 

A time of visitation will be held Monday, August 11, 2025 from 2:00-3:00PM at Reedy Branch Baptist Church, 3047 East McDonald Road, Fairmont. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3;00PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
