Not sure what to say?

I'm sad to hear of Curtis passing. I remember having some good times together in highschool ,when we worked at the lumber yard in Ethan. May your cherished memories of him give you peace in this time of sorrow.

My deepest sympathy to all family and friends.

I was saddened to hear of Curt's passing. It's clear from the life he built — his dedication to his kids, his years growing Combined Building Specialties, and the happiness he found with Joyce — that he was a man who gave his whole heart to the people and things he loved. My thoughts are with you and the entire Boehmer family during this difficult time.

Alvina and family, Lewis & I send our sincere sympathy for your loss of Curt. You are in our prayers that you will feel God’s blessings of peace and hope.

Vinny, Glen and family, We are so sorry for your loss of Curt. Our prayers are for you and your family during this difficult time. May our Savior, Jesus, comfort you.

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with all of you at this difficult time.

Alvina, Glen & Tanya ~ So so sorry to hear the news about Curt. We are thinking of and praying for your family. Hugs! Kevin & Julie Flemmer

My deepest sympathy to the Boehmer families, may God grant you strength through this very difficult time.

Obituary

Curtis's Obituary

Curt Boehmer, 55, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on February 7, 2026, at Sanford Medical Center.

Curt was born on June 28, 1970, to Kenneth and Alvina Boehmer in Parkston, SD. He grew up in Ethan, SD, where he graduated from Ethan High School in 1988. He later attended Mitchell Vo-Technical Institute and graduated with a degree in architectural drafting and building construction.

Curt was previously married to Renae, with whom he had three children: Lindsay, Kyle, and Nick. Curt loved his children with all of his being and, from the day they were born until the time he passed, was engaged and active in their lives and so very proud of them.

In 2023, Curt found immense joy and love again with his fiancé, Joyce, with whom he was planning a future. He loved being welcomed into her family and becoming a grandpa for the first time to her grandchildren.

Curt owned Combined Building Specialties, working there since 1992 and purchasing the business in 2007. He worked there for 30 years before stepping into semi-retirement.

Curt loved bow hunting, woodworking, and rooting for his favorite football teams, the Chicago Bears and the Sioux Falls Storm. He could often be found detailing or driving his Corvette, participating in fantasy football leagues, or spending time in the Black Hills. More than any of that, Curt especially enjoyed spending time with his children, family, and beloved dog, Sammy.

Curt is survived by his fiancé, Joyce, of Sioux Falls, SD; his children, Lindsay of Kansas City, MO; Kyle (Taylor) of Harrisburg, SD; and Nick (Abby) of Sioux Falls, SD; his mother, Alvina, of Mitchell, SD; his brother, Glen (Tanya) of Dakota Dunes, SD; as well as many other relatives and friends. Curt was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth, and brother, Bradley.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Peace Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation with family present will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service, with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Curt’s name to the Sioux Falls Humane Society.  The service will be livestreamed through Peace Lutheran Church at https://peacelutheran.online.church
