Curtis Lee Cummings Sr. 61, of Beaumont passed May 07, 2016.
Services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Paradise Missionary Baptist Church 4390 Fannett Rd. Beaumont, TX. Visitation will begin at 9AM until funeral at 11AM. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Beaumont, TX.
Curtis was one of Six Children born to the union of Walter and Bertha Cummings. His birthplace was Jasper County. They later would move to Beaumont, Texas. He was a worker even at a young age, as he would boast about his first job at Church’s chicken while in high school. He would save his money by giving them to his mom and was able to save enough money to buy a Ford Mustang. He attended and graduated from Beaumont High School, started courses at Lamar University until he was employed by Exxon Mobil. He would work there for over 35 years. He would call them his work family since he spent so much time there as they referred to him as “Cut”. He was a loving father and friend.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Bertha Cummings; Siblings: Ida Young and Jerry Cummings.
He is survived by his children Kevin Cummings, Curtis Cummings Jr, Christopher Cummings, Wayne Cummings, and Darius Cummings. His Siblings: Preston Cummings, Robert Cummings, and Lula Jacobs. Also, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
