Curt was my printing instructor at Plainfield Correctional Facility. Over the years we became good friends. We met at the National Printing Show at the McCormick Exhibition Hall in Chicago. We toured the show and had lunch together. It was the last time I saw him. I wanted to meet with him in Plainfield and have a few beers together. It was a pleasure to have Curt as a friend. He was a very intelligent, caring, interesting, honest and a compassionate man. We went to the National Drags with him and Jean, had lunches and shared interesting conversations with them. During one of the last visits to his home when he was so ill he was still very positive and appreciative for his long life, loving wife and friendships. He will be missed by both of us.

I worked with Curt for 22 years at Arthur Campbell High School in Plainfield, IN. Curt was an excellent printing instructor who trained hundreds of students during his career. Correctional education is not something that many people can do successfully. Curt was exceptional in that he could not only teach men a vocation, but also help them make decisions that would prevent them from recidivating.
