Dale will be missed. He kept telling my daughter we were going to run a race. Well he beat me. May the good Lord wrap his arms of comfort around all of his friends and family.

My deepest condolences.i am so sorry to hear this.i adored Dale .He was very kind .is see and speak to him about every morning out on his porch.Jad a lot of laughs and thought we solved all world problems a couple times! I will miss him.

Dale's Obituary

Dale Allen Yates, 78, a longtime resident of Chetopa, KS, passed away early Friday morning, August the 22nd, 2025, at Freeman West in Joplin, MO.

He was born February 12th, 1947 in Parsons, KS to Othello Gordon Yates and Grace Irene (Buckley) Yates. He graduated from Altamont Schools. 

He is a veteran, having served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked several years in the Water Department for the City of Chetopa. He loved going to all kinds of restaurants so he could check out the different types of food. He enjoyed going to gun shows, auctions, and mowing his yard.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dean Yates.

He is survived by cousins, Bill Buckley, Charles Buckley, Bob Boyd, and Darrell Baunhofer; and special friends, TIm and Joie Smith.

A visitation will be held at the Community Bible Church in Chetopa from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, August the 25th. Services will be held at the church Tuesday, August the 26th at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Randy Frazier will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lake Creek Union Cemetery in Bartlett, KS.
