Dan Danielson, 79, passed away on December 27, 2025, in Burkburnett, Texas. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and veteran, Dan led a life marked by service, dedication, and quiet strength.
Born on October 21, 1946, in Lanesboro, Minnesota, Dan was the son of Gerhard and Agnes Danielson. He graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School in Fargo, ND. He later pursued higher education at Vernon Regional Junior College and Wayland Baptist University.
In 1965, Dan enlisted in the United States Air Force, beginning a distinguished nearly 23-year military career. Rising through the ranks to become a Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt), he served as a Supply Superintendent with steadfast commitment until his retirement from active duty in 1987. His service reflected not only professional excellence but also a deep sense of duty to his country.
On January 31, 1970, Dan married Phylis Naomi Gamble who he met in Smyrna, TN while stationed at Sewart AFB.
Following his military retirement, Dan continued to contribute his expertise by working for supply contractors at Sheppard Air Force Base. He remained dedicated to this work until his second retirement in 2009.
Dan found joy and fulfillment in spending time with friends and family and pursuing hobbies that brought him peace and camaraderie. Whether on the golf course or bowling alley, casting a line while fishing or simply enjoying time with loved ones, he embraced life’s simple pleasures with gratitude. He was especially proud of the two holes in one that he hit: the first at Hole 16 at Wind Creek Golf Course and the second at Hole 16 at River Creek Golf Course.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 56 years, Phylis Naomi Danielson; daughter Kristine Johnson and her husband Tim; and grandchildren Olivia Johnson and fiancé Ethan Dowell and Owen Johnson and fiancé Shiloh Cline. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
