I will miss Dan. He was such a kind generous soul. Dan you will always be my brother. Thinking of all of you at this sorrowful time. Sending love, hugs and prayers your way. Wish I could be there.

Daniel was a wonderful man. I remember he trained me when we worked together at NET and was always willing to lend a helping hand with a smile on his face. I will dearly miss him and I pray his family is doing well during this difficult time.

Daniel's Obituary

    Mr. Daniel Elmer Burtness age 54 of Young Harris, GA. , formerly of Montana passed away peacefully on Thursday April 24, 2025 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Burtness was born on April 5, 1971 in Clarksville, Iowa, the son of the late Lloyd Allan Burtness and the late Sylvia Sather Burtness. Mr. Burtness was a veteran of the US National Guard. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother and grandfather. Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Burtness was of the Baptist faith.

   Surviving Mr. Burtness are his loving wife and best friend, Alana Underwood Burtness of Young Harris, seven children, Aaron and Jamie Burtness of Emmett, ID., Jesse Burtness of ID., Meggan and Nick NightShoot of Great Falls, MT., David Burtness of MT., Derrick Shields of  WS., Daniel Shields of Great Falls, MT., McKenna Killian of Blairsville, three grandchildren, Alaric, Greyson and Finley, one brother, Larry Burtness of Minneapolis, MN., stepmother, Betty Burtness,  father in law, Harold Underwood of Blairsville, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

   The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 pm.  A memorial service will be held on Friday May 2, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Adams, Rev. Harold Underwood and Rev. Daniel Webster officiating. The following gentleman will serve as honorary pallbearers, Dayne Peterson, Skylar Peterson, Beau Webster, Ty Cummings, Ty Webster and Trent Webster.
