Not sure what to say?

I worked with Curtis at Gulf States Utilities in 1966 at the age of 18 -21. He left a life long inspiration on me. I have tried over the years to re unite with no success. Sadly I read his arbitrary yesterday. What a very sad loss. My mission this summer was to contact him.

I had great admiration for my grandfather, to me he was golden! I will miss him so much! He was a great man and I can only hope to try and walk in his footsteps. I got to visit with him a few weeks before his passing and made sure he knew how I felt about both him and my grandmother!

I made sure he knew how important he was and how he’s touched so many lives in the most positive ways!

I love you papaw, until we meet again!

To the Gates family. I want to offer my condolences to you all. My dad and Mr. Gates worked together at Gulf States Utilities for many years. I also did Mr. & Mrs. Gates income taxes many years ago when I worked for H&R Block in Baker. Once again I want to say how very sorry I am to here of his passing. We all know he is a much better place now.

Ms. Myrle, I was so saddened to hear about Mr. Curtis's passing. I loved going to church at Spring Creek when I would visit my brother Fernie Ray and his sweet wife Carol Jean when I came over from Houston. You and Curtis always brought a smile to my face when you walked in for Discipleship. I am certain heaven is a brighter place too because of Curtis. He will be missed by so many here on earth. Thinking of you and your family and sending prayers. ...

So sry to hear about Mr Curtis
He was a great man.

Our hearts are truly shattered by the loss of Mr. Curtis. Our world and Spring Creek Baptist Church will never be the same without him. His smiling face and strong hand shake will remain in our memories. On March 3, 2018, I was so grateful that Tony was with Mr. Curtis that day cutting grass at church. That day Tony had a heart attack and Mr. Curtis did CPR on him and revived him. Next to Jesus, Mr. Curtis was our hero. God broke the mold when He made Mr. Curtis. Great men like him are very...
