I have known Duke for many years he lived a hard life but he was one of the strongest men I knew he looked out for me all the time he loved my son he called him Willy Nelson because of his long gray hair and beard i have not seen him in years but I never forgot about him

Daniel "Duke"'s Obituary

Daniel “Duke” Russell, 78, a native of Englewood, TN passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family and friends.

He was a member of East View Baptist Church. Duke started buying and selling vehicles at the young age of sixteen and owned and operated his own car dealership for sixty years. Weekdays were for car wheeling and dealing with his dog, Smokey. Sundays were for watching Nascar and football.

Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Opal Russell; mother of his children, Delores Arp; brother, Buddy Russell; sisters, Rachel Moses and Eva Davis.

Survivors include his sons, Dustin and Damian Russell; grandchildren, Peyton Ellison, Lorelei Russell and August Russell; great-grandson, Major Ellison; brother, Burch Russell Sr.; sister, Bea Burkhart; several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Sneed officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at Bordwine Funeral Home Wednesday, October 8th at 10:00 a.m. and go in procession to Sunrise Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
