Daniel's Obituaries

Pawtucket – Daniel J. Kennedy, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Beatrice “Bea” R. (Healy) Kennedy for sixty-four years. A lifelong resident of Rhode Island, he was a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Richer) Kennedy. Dan was a Korean War U.S. Navy veteran, and attended the Rhode Island School of Design. He was a Master Toolmaker at FRAM Automotive for many years until retiring in 1991. He was also the inventor of the Kennedy Cup and various other non-spill products. Dan enjoyed Providence College Basketball, tennis, golf and ping-pong. He was a member of the Leon Mathieu Senior Center, Cedar Cove Community Center and enjoyed spending over twenty-five winters in Sarasota, FL. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Besides his wife, he leaves, Susan Ruth Eve of Sarasota, FL, Linda Beatrice Kennedy of Pawtucket, Daniel Joseph Kennedy, Jr. of North Kingstown, John Healy Kennedy of Exeter, Maureen Mary Whitt of Parrish, FL and Eileen Frances Botelho of Sarasota, FL and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Eugene Kennedy, Joseph Kennedy and Marilyn Donnelly. His funeral with Military Honors will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Leo the Great, 699 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. VISITATION will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. Please omit flowers.
