Not sure what to say?

I just found out and am devastated. What an awesome dude. Dan was one of my first patients at Dr Salling’s office where I was a hygienist, sorry if I’m breaking HIPPA, but I don’t care. For 25 years I looked forward to seeing him on the schedule, where we did more talking than cleaning teeth, to be honest . And I loved seeing him at my favorite store ever, Craft Hardware. Much love to you Nancy, you are in my thoughts constantly ❤

thank you Lord Christ

A STRANGER IS WELCOMED.... A few months ago, I took the stairs up without invitation to Dan's office at Craft where I was met with a kind smile and quizzakle look. For Dan had never met me but he asked me to sit and take a moment to talk about things. I knew a bit about Dan from visits to the gym where I met Nancy and she had shared his love for the field, farm and family especially mixed with a few quail for which she prepared. With a gentle posture and some physical difficulty, Dan...

Nancy, Eric and Ben- I was very sad to hear about Dan’s passing, and I want to extend my deepest condolences to all of you during this difficult time.
I’ll always cherish the wonderful memories I have with Dan- from fishing trips in wrightsville and the time spent with the family at the beach, to that memorable ski trip to snowshoe, and the warmest Christmas dinners at Doris and Dan’s each year. Dan’s kindness, humor and genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone.

I am so sad to hear of this loss. Dan and I were partners for a period when his architectural firm in West Virginia and my architectural firm, Synthesis, Inc., in Wrightsville Beach merged. He later left to open Craft Hardware and I had the honor of designing that store for him. Dan and I had many hours on the tennis courts together and great times otherwise. He was a good friend as is his family. Best to his wife Nancy, and his sons and family. Love to all, Jay

I am so sorry to learn of Dan's passing. He was a friend and also ran an excellent store that I patronize constantly.
To bump into Dan anywhere resulted in a good conversation and feeling better after parting; a rare quality he had.
My most genuine condolences to Nancy and Eric and family,
Bill Gage

May his family and friends have abundant memories of his love and laughter. Dan always had a smile to share and an uncommonly kind manner.
