Daniel's Obituary

Let us celebrate the life of a great man. Daniel Maynard Sr. was born on December 30, 1937, in Newport News, Virginia. He was blessed to Daniel M Maynard and Marilyn Chavis who preceded him in passing along with his wife Princess G. Williams, sisters and brother, Sharon, Deborah, Carolyn and Kenneth. He is survived by his two sons Daniel Jr. (Tina) and Leon Maynard, and his sister Yvonne Burgess. He graduated from Eastern High School of Detroit in 1958 and joined the Navy right after graduation and remained until 1962. They moved to Detroit in 1964, after leaving the Navy and marrying his wife Princess G. Maynard.Daniel Maynard Sr. was a Master Electrician at Ford Motor Company, whose job was electrical maintenance for 43 years. He was very dedicated to Ford hired on September 29th 1963, and retired in January 1st 2007. Daniel was also a dedicated member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. He joined church on August 22, 2004. Since joining he became known to many as a bus driver, usher of the Sr. Board.Also left to celebrate his life is his two grandchildren TáLyn and Brock Maynard, one great-grandchild Brock Jr, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, brother and sister in laws, and dear friends.A viewing will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 from noon to 6:00 p.m. at Cooke Bros. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Bethel A.M.E. Church 94 Lincoln St. Hampton, VA. 23669. A repast at the church will follow interment.
