Daniel's Obituary

  Daniel Ordaz of Gilroy passed away at home surrounded by his family on April 18, 2024.

  Daniel was a loving and devoted husband to his late wife, Kayneta Ordaz of Gilroy, Father of Lisa Velasco and her husband, Jimmie, Dana Fachin and her husband, Gene, Christopher Ordaz and Mark Ordaz.

  He was a loving grandfather to Aaron, Kellie, Chad and his wife Claudia, Terra and her husband, Matthew, Neil, Dawn, Kaylyn, Claire, Megan and her husband, Travis, Sarah and Daniel. Great- grandfather of Jaxon, Brody, Sadie, Scarlett, Roselie, Danielle, Kendra, Hannah and Noah. Brother of Sarah Aceves, and Margaret Herrera. Preceded in death by his siblings Dolores Reynoso, Anna Cortes, Mary Cardenas, Serafin Ordaz and his twin brother Samuel Ordaz, daughter in law Kimberly Ordaz, grandson Travis Fachin, and brother-in-law, Victor McSwain. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Dudley Bexley of Mobile, AL.

  Daniel was born and raised in Gilroy, graduating from Gilroy High School in 1951. Daniel met and married his sweetheart, Kayneta in 1952 while he was stationed at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile, AL.

  They returned to Gilroy in 1955 where they raised their family. Daniel worked for Gilroy Telephone Company and retired after 30 years of service. Daniel was a lifelong learner. After retirement, he pursued a career in real estate and co-owned Parkside Athletic Club.

  Daniel was a deacon at First Baptist Church for over 40 years. He always led by example by sharing his faith with those he knew and instilled a love of God to his children and grandchildren. Daniel will be remembered most for his love of people and his unwavering faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

  Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service 2:00pm Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Gilroy. Private burial took place at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
