So sorry for your families loss.
I worked with Dan at Weetabix
for 13 years, he was a nice guy.

Judy, Chris, Diane and Family,

I am so sad to hear of Mr. Daniel's passing. He was such a wonderful neighbor. I so enjoyed our long talks over the fence. He was such a kind man, and I appreciated that he was always keeping an eye on the neighborhood, and he always had tea to spill! I will dearly miss our chats.

Daniel's Obituary

Daniel Potter, 80, died suddenly at home on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Judith (Bemis) Potter; their children and spouses, Tara Finley & Michael; Christopher Potter & Diane; and Jodie Martin & Jonathan; his adoring grandchildren, Gracie, Julia, Kathryn, and Brandon Finley, Katie and Owen Potter, Jake and Lily Martin.  He leaves his siblings and their spouses, Harold Potter & Lee, Brendon Potter & Jane, Cheryl Baer, and Jacey Durham; generations of nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.  He is pre-deceased by his sister Sandra Morrison.

Son of the late Harold and Elizabeth (Duff) Potter, Dan was raised and educated in Sherborn and was a graduate of Framingham High School, Class of 1963.  He enlisted to proudly serve our nation in the US Navy and was assigned to duty as a fireman aboard the USS Cascade. After being honorably discharged, Dan returned home and worked for several years as a plumber’s apprentice at Medfield State Hospital.  Following marriage, Dan and Judy settled in Framingham, where together they raised their family and then retired in Lancaster.  Dan spent his professional career of more than thirty years with Weetabix in Clinton until retiring.  An amateur ornithologist, Dan held great interest and knowledge in birds and enjoyed the relaxing pleasures of bird watching and tending to his bird feeders.  He too was a faithful fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics.  A devoted “Poppy,” he most enjoyed cheering on the successes and accolades of his grandchildren, was a proud dad, and a loving husband.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 10 until 11AM with a Funeral Service immediately to follow at 11AM in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton.  Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Daniel Potter to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
