Daniel's Obituary

Daniel Edward Ryder, Jr., 44 and a resident of Natchitoches, LA, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 30, 2018.  Daniel was born October 25, 1973, in Alexandria, LA to Daniel Edward Ryder, Sr. of Deville, LA and Betty Campbell Ryder of Marthaville, LA. Daniel continued to work up until the last day with us, even after he got sick, you could not keep Daniel still.  He was always getting into something, especially when he was a child.  Daniel was always the first in line to help anyone in need.  He was a “jack of all trades”, your “go to” man, and a man among men.  His favorite activity was fishing; it always gave him peace of mind and relaxed him more than anything else.  Daniel had a huge heart of compassion but could also be the toughest when needed.  Daniel was a protector and provider for everyone he knew, but especially for his family, and he would go to great lengths to take care of them.  He will be missed and was loved by many.  He will never be forgotten and always remembered as a loyal son, father, and friend until the end.  Daniel will forever be in our hearts.

He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Edward Ryder, Sr., and a sister, Shonda Ryder.

Daniel is survived by his five children, Daniel Ryder, III, Chelsea Ryder, Kristen Ryder, Skylar Ryder, and Tyler Ryder; and his mother, Betty Campbell Ryder.  He was blessed with two beautiful grandbabies, Alixsondra Grace and Abron Jace with his former wife Layna Jones.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in his hometown of Deville, LA.
