i have attended several basketball and volleyball games this year and it just don't seem to be the same without danielle

I know that a loss like this can be so overwhelming. We're so very sorry that you all have to experience this tragedy. Danielle was such a beautiful person that touched so many lives. Her memory will live on forever and she is watching over all of you. Love you all so much!

There are no words to describe the heartache our entire community is feeling right now... Danielle will be missed by so many of us all. Volleyball games will not be the same without her. She was always so happy. I don't think I ever saw her without a smile on her face even when she looked at someone she didn't know. My heart goes out to Danielles entire family.. RIP sweet girl..

A Mass of Christian Burial for Danielle Gonzales will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Bent Community Center in Las Animas, Colorado.  Father Henry Wertin is officiating.  Rosary will be held prior to Mass at 9:30 a.m.  Visitation for Danielle will be from 4:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Horber Funeral Chapel.

Danielle Monique Gonzales was born on February 5, 1999 in Pueblo, Colorado to Gabriel Gonzales and Melissa (Estrada) Slusher.  She passed away on March 8, 2018 in Las Animas, Colorado at the age of 19.

Danielle was to graduate in May of 2018 and had recently signed a scholarship with Dean College for volleyball.  She had plans to study Pathology/Criminology with a minor Sports Medicine and possibly Photography.  Danielle attended Las Animas High School and was involved in volleyball, basketball, and FBLA.

Danielle is survived by her parents, Gabriel Gonzales of Pueblo, Colorado and Melissa Slusher of Denver, Colorado; sisters, Leticia Roybal and Gabrielle Gonzales both of Pueblo, Colorado, Myala Arrellano of La Junta, and a new sister to be born in May; grandparents, Joe and Martha Gonzales of Las Animas, Marge Whattler of Las Animas, and Esperanza Estrada of Pueblo; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dave Whattler; uncle, Mike Montoya; and beloved dogs, Chucho and Holly.
