Danny Wayne Dickens, age 81, of Justin, Texas, passed away peacefully in Plano on September 21, 2025. He was born on August 9, 1944, in Gainesville, Texas, to Wayne and Alyne Dickens.
Danny attended Sanger Schools and graduated from Sanger High School with the Class of 1962. He proudly served in the United States Army and later married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Smith, on June 1, 1963, in Sanger.
Danny spent many years as manager of Denton Paint and Wallpaper, followed by a long tenure at Creative Paint and Wallpaper, before retiring from Metro Paint. His dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Alyne Dickens; his beloved wife, Barbara; and his brother, Perry Weldon Dickens.
Danny’s memory will be cherished by his children: Tina D'Andria and husband Mike of Ponder, and Dan Dickens of Fort Worth; his brother Terry Dickens and wife Vicki of Cantonment, Florida; and two sisters, Deborah Dickens Roeder and husband Joe Lynn of Sanger, and Kathy Wood of Denton; and sister-in-law, Kay Dickens of Sanger.
He was a proud grandfather to Tiffany Crawford, Caitlyn Anderson, Cody Leonard, Zoe Simone Dickens, and Evelyn Skye Dickens, and a loving great-grandfather to Eli Crawford, Emma Crawford, Grayson Anderson, and Gavin Holland.
